Muslim Screen ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Muslim Screen mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information (Optional)

If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive your email address and display name. Account creation is entirely optional — the App works fully without an account.

Location Data

We request your location to calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla direction for your area. Your location is rounded to approximately 1 km accuracy and is processed locally on your device. We do not store or transmit your precise location to any server.

Screen Time / Family Controls

The App uses Apple's Family Controls framework to enable voluntary app blocking. Apple provides only opaque tokens — we cannot see the names or identifiers of apps you choose to block. This data remains entirely on your device under Apple's control.

Quran & Dhikr Activity

Your reading progress, bookmarks, dhikr counts, and other activity data are stored locally on your device using iOS encrypted storage (SwiftData). This data is never transmitted to external servers unless you explicitly enable cross-device sync.

Purchase Information

Subscriptions and purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We only receive entitlement status (whether you have an active subscription) — we never see your payment details, credit card information, or Apple ID password.

3. How We Use Information

  • Calculate prayer times and Qibla direction based on your location
  • Track your Quran reading progress and dhikr counts
  • Manage your subscription entitlements
  • Optional: Sync your progress across devices (requires account)

4. Third-Party Services

  • Apple Sign-In: Used for optional account creation. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Supabase: Used for optional backend sync if you create an account. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

We do not use any advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or tracking frameworks. There are no ads in the App.

5. Data Storage & Security

All local data is stored using iOS encrypted storage (SwiftData) on your device. If you opt into cloud sync, data is transmitted via TLS and stored in Supabase with encryption at rest. Subscription data is managed securely by Apple's StoreKit framework.

6. Your Rights & Controls

  • Use the App without creating an account
  • Delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings
  • Revoke location permissions from iOS Settings
  • Remove app blocking at any time from the App's Settings
  • Request a copy of your data by contacting us

7. Children's Privacy

Muslim Screen is rated 13+ on the App Store. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. GDPR Rights (EU Users)

If you are located in the European Union, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right of Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
